Let’s face it. Nobody wants to clean their bathroom. Between the toilet, sink, floor, and shower, there is a ton of nasty grime that is anything but enjoyable to maintain. Cleaning a bathroom is like eating vegetables. It’s not something people want to do—it’s something that HAS to be done.

Because bathrooms are used for various reasons, such as shaving, taking a shower, and using the toilet, they get dirty much quicker than any other room in a house. Because of this, the bathroom needs to be cleaned the most often! And not just cleaned, but DEEP cleaned.

Soap scum, excretion residue, dirt, and hair are all things commonly found in a typical bathroom. All of these things require a different method of cleaning. Below are ways to tackle each of these different types of grime.

For hair, the objective is simple. Loose pieces of hair can be swept from the floor, or a wet paper towel can be used to swipe it off of any surface. Hair sticks very well to water, so cleaning in this manner is very efficient.

For dirt, soap and water are effective. Plenty of soap and water can clean any amount of dirt. By scrubbing or mopping a dirty surface, dirt easily comes off of anything!

Soap scum is a bit trickier. Usually, soap scum has to be scraped off of a surface before it can be disposed of. At the same time, it is important not to scratch or damage the various surfaces. Because of this, it is highly recommended to use tools specifically designed with this application in mind. Avoiding tools with sharp edges will prevent serious damage to property.

For excretion material in a toilet, the main step is to scrub and sanitize the entire surface of the toilet bowl very thoroughly. Doing so will ensure that the majority of this contaminant is removed. Using any standard toilet bowl scrubber will suffice. Additionally, any sort of specially designed powder or chemical for a toilet bowl will also work. Always follow the manufacturer’s safety instructions and never mix different cleaning products together, as this can create dangerous fumes. After scrubbing is complete, flushing the toilet one to two times ensures that all of the loose residue washes down the drain.

And there you have it. That is a recommended way to clean of various types of grime from a bathroom! Please note that there are plenty of alternative cleaning methods which can also work. These are just the ones recommended here; however, everyone has there own unique way of doing things. So remember, it’s very important to clean the bathroom, and ESPECIALLY the toilet and tub. Good luck and happy cleaning!
